Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of self-efficacy between students who took student council and those who did not at SMA Bina Warga 2 Palembang. This study uses a quantitative approach with a comparative research design. The population in this study were all classes XI and XII with a total of 523 students taken using non-probability sampling technique purposive sampling type with a total sample of 58 students. The data collection techniques in this study used documentation, questionnaires, and observation techniques. The results of the research showed that the hypothesis, tested using the Mann-Whitney U test obtained a significance value of Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) of 0.003 <0.05, with the mean of ranks for student council participants at 40.34 and those without at 25.37, the comparison of self-efficacy is seen in aspects of the Level and Situation dimensions of Psychology, differences in learners' perceptions of the level of difficulty in completing tasks affect their beliefs and abilities and experiences and interactions with the environment provide certain signals and expectations that influence learners to respond to challenges, so the decision taken was what that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a comparison of self-efficacy between students who took student council and those who did not at SMA Bina Warga 2 Palembang.
