Abstract

Gastritis is a condition in which inflammation occurs in the gastric mucosa. It can be acute, chronic, diffuse, or local. Coffee is one of the most widely grown tropical plants in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the relationship between coffee consumption and the incidence of gastritis. The method used in this study is a literature review study with a narrative method that includes research results in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data. The results of the research review and the relationship between coffee and the incidence of gastritis, from 8 articles that mention that there is a relationship between coffee and the incidence of gastritis. This can be seen whether these factors are related to the occurrence of gastritis. Based on the results of the literature review, it shows that coffee consumption is one of the factors that can increase the risk of gastritis, especially if consumed excessively. Coffee is the main cause of gastritis health problems if consumed excessively. Some literature shows that coffee consumption can be affected by gastritis because the caffeine contained in it can accelerate the production of stomach acid.
