Abstract

This study aims to develop a flipbook-based learning module and to determine the feasibility and practicality of the flipbook-based e-learning module for students in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program at Universitas Sriwijaya. E-Modules function as learning resources that help students learn independently, in a two-way, and communicative manner. Flipbooks are learning media in the form of books in the form of albums with virtual arrangements containing learning materials in the form of sentences with attractive colors. The advantage of flipbooks is that they maximize students' knowledge of events that are not in the classroom. The development of the flipbook-based e-module was carried out using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Validation was conducted by material experts and media experts, along with a limited trial involving students. The validation results indicated that the developed flipbook-based e-module met the criteria of being highly feasible in terms of content, appearance, and usability. The student trials also showed positive responses regarding ease of access, interactivity, and the attractiveness of the e-module. Thus, the flipbook-based e-module is deemed feasible and practical to be used as a learning medium in the Industrial Practice course. The use of this flipbook-based e-module is expected to enhance students’ motivation, independence, and learning outcomes, as well as serve as an innovative solution for digital-based learning in vocational education environments.
