Abstract

diperhatikan untuk mencapai keberhasilan dalam peternakan ruminansia. Total Mixed Ration (TMR) adalah suatu konsep dalam pemberian pakan ternak yang berfokus pada penggunaan bahan hijauan dan konsentrat dalam perbandingan yang tepat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi ternak ruminansia. Penelitian Kecernaan silase Total Mixed Ration (TMR) Rumput Pakchong (Pennisetum purpureum cv, Thailand) dan Pollard secara in vitro dilakukan di Jurusan Teknologi dan Industri Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya pada bulan Agustus hingga September 2024. Penelitian dilakukan dengan tiga perlakuan dengan lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang diamati yaitu Rumput Pakchong (P0), Rumput Pakchong dengan penambahan Pollard (P1), dan Silase Total Mixed Ration (P2). Penelitian ini peubah yang diamati meliputi Kecernaan Bahan Kering, N�Ammonia, Total Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA). Data dianalisa menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan ke uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berbeda nyata (P<0,005) terhadap Kecernaan Bahan Kering, N-ammonia, dan VFA. Hasil uji lanjut Duncan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan P2 memiliki nilai konsentrasi KBK, N-ammonia, dan VFA tertinggi; KBK 45,48%, N-ammonia 9,35, dan VFA 130. Pada perlakuan P1 memiliki nilai konsentrasi N-ammonia terendah yaitu 5,61. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan silase Total Mixed Ration tidak hanya memiliki kecernaan yang lebih baik dibandingkan rumput Pakchong dan campuran pollard, tetapi juga berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan ketersediaan nutrisi yang dibutuhkan oleh ternak ruminansia
