Abstract
This research develops an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart monitoring system for anthocyanin and carotene dye-sensitized solar panels. The monitoring system utilizes INA219 sensors to measure current and voltage, and BH1750FVI sensors for light intensity, whose data is sent in real-time to the Blynk IoT platform and Google Sheets using ESP32. The results of the 13-day test showed a decrease in performance (degradation) in both types of solar panels. Organic Solar Cell shows power degradation even though the Light intensity is still sufficient, which indicates the ability of Organic Solar Cell to decrease. The decrease in Organic Solar Cell power from the first 55.25 μWatt of data collection to day 13 is 30 μWatt, which is 45.70%. The efficiency of solar panels also decreased, but the monitoring system developed was able to record data changes accurately. The implementation of IoT in solar panel monitoring is proven to increase the effectiveness of monitoring, provide easy access to data, and can be used as a reference in the development of renewable energy technology based on organic solar cells in the future.
