Abstract
The objective of this research was to select population of Siamand Pegaganwhich were tolerant to submergence stress during vegetative growth. and was conducted from February 2016 until August 2016 at Greenhouse, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This research used Completely Randomize Design (CRD) with four treatments genotypes and five replications, they were Siam, Pegagan, Siam, and Pegagan. Parameter of observed consisted of percentage of live plants (%), total number of leaves before submerged and after submerged, plant height (cm), total number of tillers, number of productive tillers and flowering time. The results showed that the growth of Genotype Pegagan tended to show the best growth after submerged stress indicated by high total number of tillers, fast flowering time and the most number of productive tillers.
