Abstract

The utilization of renewable energy, particularly Solar Power Plants (PLTS), continues to grow as a solution to the global energy crisis and environmental issues. One of the major challenges in operating PLTS systems is the lack of effective real-time monitoring, especially for critical components such as the solar charge controller. This study aims to develop and implement the Solar Guardian application as a real-time data logging tool for rooftop PLTS systems using polycrystalline solar panels and VRLA batteries.The Solar Guardian application is designed to monitor key parameters such as voltage, current, power, and battery charging status, and to present data in real time through IoT-based devices. The research was conducted at Polygon Baru Residential Area, Palembang City, with data collection carried out over a 14-day period. Test results show that the application can accurately and reliably record PLTS operational data in real time, enabling users to detect system failures or performance degradation promptly. Furthermore, the application enhances maintenance efficiency and extends battery lifespan. In conclusion, the Solar Guardian application plays a vital role in the digitalization of renewable energy monitoring and offers an effective solution to improve the reliability and efficiency of household-scale PLTS systems.
