Abstract

Hydroponic farming has become an alternative solution to the limitations of conventional agricultural land while also answering the challenge of increasing food needs. The Smart Showcase Hydroponic system allows indoor plant cultivation with optimal environmental control, but requires precise nutrient monitoring. Firebase as an application development platform was chosen because it provides a Realtime Database with instan data synchronization capabilities, high scalability, and integrated authentication features. The design of the Firebase Realtime Database based application for monitoring the nutrient control system on this Smart Showcase Hydroponic uses various main sensors, such as the pH (potential of hydrogen) sensor which indicates the acidity level of the solution and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) which measures the total concentration of dissolved nutrients in the solution. All measurement data is collected by the ESP8266 microcontroller and sent in real time to the Firebase Realtime Database via an internet connection. The stored data can be monitored via the website dashboard, so that users can see the nutrient conditions directly. This system allows efficient, accurate, and remote monitoring and control of hydroponic nutrients without the need for a special mobile application, thus supporting optimal management of the Smart Showcase Hydroponic.
