Abstract
This research intends to investigate the effect of self-confidence on student’s activity in social science subject of class VII in SMP Negeri 1Kandis. This study employs a quantitaive approach with an associative research design. The population in this study were seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kandis, and the sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with purposive sampling, resulting ini 51 respondents. Data collection methods used were questionnaires, observations and interviews. The validity test used the Pearson Product Moment technique, while the reliability test used the Alpha Cronbach technique. Data analysis technique included normality tests using the Chi-Square technique and linearity tests. Hypothesis testing used correlation and t-tests. The results of this study showed that t_(count )=7,4179>t_(table )=1,677, therefore Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of science subjects for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kandis.
