The research sample amounted to 62 students using purposive sampling tecniques. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The hypothesis test was carried out using the pearson product moment correlation test which showed a positive correlation between the fear of missing out (FOMO) variable on social media in influencing the consumtive behavior variable with a value of 0.55356 then the determinant coefficient test which showed that the fear of missing out (FOMO) variable in social media affected the consumptive behavior variable by 30.63% and the t-test which obtained the result that, t_count 5.1486 ≥ t_table 2.0000, so it can be concluded that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, which means on the consumptive behavior of students of the Economics Educations study program , Sriwijaya University. It is recommended that students deepen the basic conceps of fear of missing out and consumptive behavior so that they are able to be more critical and controlled in spending and can early distinguish between purchases based on basic needs and desires.
