Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the technical efficiency, allocative efficiency, and economies of scale of the “Ngingun Ayam” broiler farming business. The farm operated a closed-house system with a capacity of 80,000 broilers per cycle. Data were collected through surveys and analyzed using the Cobb-Douglas production function in natural logarithmic form, estimated via multiple linear regression using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. The regression results showed that DOC had a coefficient of 0.304 (significance 0.053), feed -0.055 (significance 0.160), and medicine -0.003 (significance 0.849). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.436, indicating that 43.6% of the production variation was explained by the input variables. Technical efficiency analysis showed that DOC had an elasticity of 0.304 (efficient), while feed (-0.055) and medicine (-0.003) were inefficient. The total elasticity of 0.246 indicated a condition of Decreasing Return to Scale (DRS). Allocative efficiency values (NPM/Px) were 1.52 for DOC, -0.08 for feed, and -0.23 for medicine. None of the inputs were used efficiently in price terms. Therefore, input management, especially for feed and medicine, needs improvement to enhance the farm’s production efficiency.
