Abstract

The cement industry is one of the industries that has intensive energy. because it absorbs enormous amounts of energy. and rotary kiln is the heart of the thermal energy system used as a combustion chamber and clinker formation. therefore efforts should be made to look at the possibility of optimizing energy use at the Semen Baturaja plant. The analysis perfomied is the heat conduction of the thickness direction on the wali of the kiln at meters 1 to 75. From the calculation result theoretically known that the highest gas temperature reached 1850.42° C. Rotary kilns have thermal insulation.in the outer wali layer of Steel shell type ASTM 516 GRADE 70 Steel plate. from the result of shell scanner imaging where the red spot occurs at meter 22 surface temperature of outer shell reach 355 ° C. Inside there are refractories (temperature of fire resistance) interface temperature reaches 359.02 ° C. And the inner wali layer is a coating that only formed in the buming zone, the interface and surface temperature in the coating reaches 942.06 ° C and 1514.07 ° C. The heat flow rate conductively along the kiln of the buming zone area is different in that it is influenced by several dominant factors such as coating thickness. the thermal conductivity of the material and the main one is the temperature distribution of the inside vary greatly due to the flame form. The comparison of theoretical temperature distribution results and program analysis shows a very small average difference of 0.2808% indicating that the method used has consistent results in accordance with predetermined assumptions.
