Abstract

Implan gigi berbahan titanium menjadi pilihan utama karena kekuatan mekanis, biokompatibilitas, serta ketahanan korosinya. Namun, proses osseointegrasi yang kurang optimal dan potensi reaksi inflamasi masih menjadi kendala. Lapisan hidroksiapatit (HA) digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk meningkatkan osseointegrasi karena bersifat osteokonduktif, memiliki koefisien ekspansi termal mirip tulang, serta mampu merangsang proliferasi osteoblas. Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan lapisan hidroksiapatit pada permukaan implan gigi titanium terhadap osseointegrasi. Metode: Literature review dilakukan menggunakan data Google Scholar, DOAJ, Science Direct, dan PubMed selama 15 tahun terakhir dihitung sejak tahun 2010 hingga 2025. Jurnal yang digunakan sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi kemudian dilakukan analisis dan dirangkum untuk mendapatkan data pengaruh dari penggunaan lapisan hidroksiapatit pada permukaan implan gigi titanium terhadap osseointegrasi. Hasil: Penelitian literature review ini berhasil menyintesis 11 jurnal in vivo dengan hasil bias rendah pada jurnal tersebut. Sebanyak 9 dari 11 jurnal menyatakan bahwa hidroksiapatit pada titanium implan gigi mempengaruhi osseointegrasi. Kesimpulan: Lapisan hidroksiapatit pada titanium implan gigi mempengaruhi hasil osseoinegrasi. Titanium dental implants are the primary choice due to their mechanical strength, biocompatibility, and corrosion resistance. However, suboptimal osseointegration and the potential for inflammatory reactions remain major challenges. Hydroxyapatite (HA) coating is used as an alternative to enhance osseointegration because it is osteoconductive, has a thermal expansion coefficient similar to bone, and can stimulate osteoblast proliferation. Objective: To determine the effect of hydroxyapatite coating on titanium dental implants toward osseointegration, Methods: A literature review was conducted using data from Google Scholar, DOAJ, ScienceDirect, and PubMed over the last 15 years, from 2010 to 2025. The selected journals met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and were analyzed and summarized to obtain data regarding the effect of hydroxyapatite coating on titanium dental implants toward osseointegration. Results: This literature review synthesized 11 in vivo studies, all of which demonstrated a low risk of bias. Nine out of eleven studies reported that hydroxyapatite coating on titanium dental implants has a positive effect on osseointegration. Conclusion: Hydroxyapatite coating on titanium dental implants influences the outcome of osseointegration.
