Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the LDF BO Barokah student organization in increasing social awareness among FKIP Sriwijaya University students. The research approach used is qualitative with descriptive methods. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with five informants consisting of administrators and active members of LDF BO Barokah. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, while validity testing was carried out through triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that LDF BO Barokah participates in increasing social awareness through da'wah programs, social services, thematic studies, and humanitarian actions that instill the values of empathy, mutual cooperation, and social responsibility. This role is seen in four main indicators, namely motivation, understanding, empathy, and student contribution in social activities. Obstacles faced include low student participation due to academic busyness and the lack of relevance of activity themes to student needs. Nevertheless, the role of this organization is able to shape social awareness in some of its members, marked by increased awareness and involvement in social activities both on and off campus.
