Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of exposure to the content and messages of Denny Sumargo's Clash of Champions podcast episode on YouTube on the learning motivation of undergraduate students. The subjects of this study are undergraduate students who are members of the Clash of Champions & AoC community (Twitter). This study employs a non-probability sampling method with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method via the SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of the study indicate that the exposure to content variable has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation with a coefficient of 0.385 (38.5%), a p-value of 0.000, and a t-test value of 4.288. Furthermore, message content positively and significantly influences learning motivation with a path coefficient of 0.246 (24.6%), a p-value of 0.037, and a t-test value of 2.081. Additionally, exposure to the broadcast and message content simultaneously influence learning motivation with an R-square value of 0.251 (25.1%). This study confirms that podcasts have the potential to shape students' learning motivation through inspiring content presented in an engaging manner.
