Abstract

Globalisasi dan kemajuan teknologi membuat Generasi Z lebih tertarik pada budaya asing yang dianggap praktis dan relevan, sehingga minat terhadap budaya lokal, termasuk Cirebon, semakin berkurang. Faktanya, Cirebon memiliki kekayaan budaya hasil akulturasi Sunda, Jawa, Cina, dan Arab yang mencakup seni kerajinan, batik, kuliner, hingga pertunjukan. Namun, pengembangan pariwisata berbasis budaya di kota ini belum berkembang optimal sehingga potensi tersebut kurang tereksplorasi. Perancangan Galeri Budaya Cirebon diharapkan menjadi solusi strategis untuk memperkenalkan, melestarikan, sekaligus mengembangkan budaya lokal. Konsep arsitektur kontemporer dengan fleksibilitas ruang dipadukan elemen tradisional khas Cirebon diharapkan menghasilkan bangunan modern, adaptif, dan tetap menonjolkan identitas daerah.
