Abstract

This research is entitled “Analysis of the Role of Inspectorate Employees in Strengthening Government Oversight in South Sumatra Province 2025”. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of Inspectorate employees in enhancing oversight, focusing on six aspects: quality, quantity, timeliness, cost-effectiveness, supervisory needs, and interpersonal influence. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings show that Inspectorate employees generally perform their supervisory functions according to procedures, though several challenges remain. In terms of quality, audits are carried out adequately, but data accuracy still needs improvement. In quantity, annual supervision programs are implemented, although monitoring is not evenly distributed across all units. Regarding timeliness, document processing often experiences delays. Cost-effectiveness is achieved through the use of digital probity audits. Supervisory needs are addressed through preventive guidance, while interpersonal influence is reflected in effective communication with regional apparatus organizations, despite occasional resistance to recommendations. The study concludes that Inspectorate employees play an effective role in government oversight; however, improvements in timeliness and equitable supervision are still required to achieve accountable and integrity-based governance.
