Abstract

The isolation and identification of chemical compounds from noni (Morinda citrifolia Linn.) fruit had been done. The isolation process was conducted through stage of extraction by methanol maceration, followed by separation and purification using several techniques of chromatographic. The structure of compounds were determined by using spectroscopies method (IR, 1H-NMR and GC-MS). Two mixture compounds were isolated from the noni fruit. Compound 1 was a yellow solid (16 mg) have melting point 135-136 °C and compound 2 was a yellowish oil (12,5 mg). Based on 1H-NMR and GC-MS data compound 1 was a mixture of 7 fatty acids with palmitic acid as a major ingredient, meanwhile based on IR and 1H-NMR data compound 2 was a mixture of 3-butenyl glycoside and aromatic compound.
