Abstract

The objective of this research is to compare the Financial Performance of Government-owned Bank with National Private Bank within period 2003-2009 by using financial ratios. Financial ratios which used are consisting of CAR, NPL, ROA, ROE, BOPO, and LDR. Based on sample's criteria that has been setted, there are two groups of sample obtained, which are 4 government-owned bank and 4 National Private Bank. The analysis tool that used to prove the hypothesis in this research was Independent sample t-test. Analysis showed that most of National Private Bank's financial ratio (CAR, NPL, ROA, BOPO, and LOR) are better compared than government-owned bank. In addition, when overall financial performance viewed. Private-owned bank showed a significantly better performance than government owned bank.
