Abstract
Terpenoid compound was isolated from ethyl acetate extract of kandis hutan stem bark (Garcinia cymosa). The extraction was done by maceration method and then separation and purification was conducted by gravity column chromatography technique. Determination of isolated compound structure is based on spectroscopic data of 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and DEPT. Antibacterial activity of isolated compound were determined by disc diffusion method. 1H-NMR spectrum showed characteristic signal at δH 5,08 ppm (proton vinilic) and δH 3,24 ppm (proton attached to the C atom that binded OH group). 13C-NMR spectrum showed 45 carbon signals, including 30 signals are a signal to the pure isolated compound. There are 4 signals for sp2 carbon atom. The analysis of DEPT spectrum showed 30 signals C consists of 8 methyl signals (CH3), 10 methylene signals (CH2), 5 metin signals (CH), and 7 signals for C quarternary. Based on the spectroscopic data of isolated compound and compare to literature data, proposed that the isolated compound is lanosterol. Isolated compound have weak category of antibacterial activity againts Bacillus subtilis with inhibition zone diameter < 10 mm at concentration 1000 and 500 ppm.
