Abstract

Karya tulis ilmiah memiliki beberapa aturan penulisan, salah satunya adalah penulisan kata asing seperti kata bahasa Inggris harus dicetak miring. Penulisan kata asing dicetak miring masih dilakukan secara manual dengan fungsi italic. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi kata bahasa Inggris sehingga kata bahasa Inggris yang terdeteksi dapat tercetak miring secara otomatis. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode Fuzzy String Matching untuk mendeteksi kata bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan Jaro-Winkler Distance untuk menghitung jarak kemiripan kata. Fuzzy String Matching merupakan bagian inexact string matching dimana metode ini memiliki konsep dengan melakukan pencarian terhadap string yang sama dan juga pencarian string yang mendekati dengan string lain dalam penampung (kamus). Penerapan metode Fuzzy String Matching akan mencari semua kemungkinan kata bahasa Inggris di dalam dokumen dengan yang ada di dalam kamus secara otomatis tercetak miring. Pengujian dilakukan pada 10 dokumen dan didapatkan hasil akurasi keseluruhan sebesar 99.43% kata bahasa Inggris yang tercetak miring.
