Abstract

In the era of increasingly sophisticated technology, electrical energy becomes a major requirement in every aspect of human life in order to sustain smooth activities. However, in Indonesia power outage still occur. Electrical equipment that are able to provide backup energy are needed during power outage. To avoid the use of oil-fueled GENSET that can causes pollution and requires expensive operating costs, permanent magnet generators becomes an alternative solution as a provider of environmentally friendly electrical energy. The permanent magnet generator uses 16 neodynium magnets at the rotor that interract with 4 coils at the stator. The permanent magnet generator is supplied by the primary battery, then rotates the generator and produces the voltage and current used to charge the secondary battery and the primary battery itself. After the secondary battery is full, it can be used to load alternating current through an inverter. With a battery charging and discharging control system made using 2 primary batteries and 2 secondary batteries. The performance of permanent magnet generators remains stable, because the AC load is separate from the generator system which is only for storage on secondary batteries. The performance of permanent magnet generators remains stable. The permanent magnet generator COP with 2 secondary batteries is 2,01. When the AC load is 100 Watt, the duration of discharging of 2 secondary batteries which/that is set in parallel is 4 hours, while the charging time of 1 secondary battery is 3,5 hours. So, there is a time lag of 1,5 hours to load alternating current again.
