Abstract
Speciation research has been canducted of MeHg and Hg2+ using potentiometric cell concentration methods. The research objective is to determine the optimum conditions of analysis which include pH and temperature, validation of potentiometric methods and determine concentration MeHg and Hg2+ in leachate water. This methods have a simple circuit, consisting of the anode and cathode connected by a salt bridge and Hg metal electrodes. The anode and cathode contain the same electrolyte solution with different concentration, then the potential is measured using a multimeter. This tesults obtained optimum conditions for MeHg and Hg2+ at pH 6 and temperature 30 oC. Based on a calibration curve MeHg and Hg2+ has a regression line equation R = 0.999 The validation results show the accuracy volue of % RSD obtained is for MeHg levels of 0.5%, while Hg2+ is 0.6%. Percent accuracy obtained for MeHg levels was 83.56% while for Hg2+ was 83.61%. The lowest method detection limit for MeHg and Hg2+ measured 0.059 mg/L, and for Hg2+ 0.059 mg/L. Leachate frome 3 ponds, pond 1 contained the highest mercury metal concentrasi MeHg 1.05 mg/L and Hg2+ 1.49 mg/L. keywords : speciation, potensiometric, MeHg and Hg2+, concentration cell Citations : 40 (1981-2017)
