Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of students in the material Ecosystem with the use of the environment around the school as a source of learning. The method of data collection in this study used the Pre-Experiment Design method with the design of the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design study. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Semendawai 2 Timur consisting of 3 classes with samples of class VII1 students using the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collection techniques using observation and tests. The results showed that the average pretest score was 36,76 and the posttest average value was 72,94. The significance of student learning outcomes is 0,000˂0,05, indicating that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So that it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students who use the environment around the school as a source of biology learning in the Ecosystems in SMP Negeri 2 Semendawai Timur are better than the learning outcomes of students who are taught only in the classroom.
