Abstract
The street light control system is extensive but no road light control system uses real-time detection methods by using passing vehicles. The study designed a prototype of a street light system with a car detection object using a background substraction method against the car's real-time detection system. Results indicate that the background method of substraction can be implemented to create a design for vehicle detection systems of cars as a light bulb system. Tests performed show that background method of substraction can detect cars with considerable accuracy where average voltage of 60%, average voltage of light at 2.635 volts and average voltage of light at dim 0.23 volts. This value is greatly influenced by video quality and environmental conditions, since it is highly sensitive to objects that are detected in addition to cars.
