Abstract
Electrical power system mostly come on a multi machine system have to maintain its optimum condition even when a fault occurred, so that the system could hold its operating stability. To prevent the system failure, we could protect the system by installing some protection devices including circuit breaker. But without any good analytical calculation the installation of those equipment will be useless in order to maintain the transient stability. Circuit breaker should be opened in a millisecond not more than system’s critical clearing time. Runge-Kutta 5th Order is chosen as a method to solve this problem in which its mathematical model come in a non-linear equation. From the simulation we got that on the first condition the fault must be cleared from the system not longer than 0.20 seconds and on the second condition the fault must be cleared from the system not longer than 0.38 seconds which both clearing time are the critical clearing time of the system based on the fault. The differences of those clearing time is mainly because of the location of the fault to the generators and the inertia constant of each generator. The graphic of the curve showed that the swinging curves indicates the stability of the system especially transient stability. Keywords : Multi machine, Transient Stability, Runge Kutta 5th Order , Critical Clearing Time.
