Abstract
This research aimed to know the influence of Photography Picture Media towards the ability of writing exposition text of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 18 Palembang by using quasi experimental method. Random and purposive sampling were used with 28 students of VIII.8 grade as the sample of control class who were taught by using chart media, and 28 students of VIII.10 grade as the experiment class taught by using Photography Picture Media. Test was used as the technique to collect the data, and the data was analyzed by using t-test in SPSS software version 20. The result showed that there were the difference results between experimental and control class with the mean score of the first test of experimental class was 38,93 and control class was 37,32. The mean score in the last test of the experimental class was 74,82 and the control class was 51,43. The t-test result obtained was that t-count>t-table= 6,949>2,005 003 with df= 56 at success rate of 95% . which means there was a significant difference between both sample classes with the experimental class reached higher score rather than the control class. Therefore, Photography Picture Media has effect on writing exposition text ability of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Palembang.
