Abstract

This study aimed to describe the critical thinking abilities of the 10 th grade social sciences students on economics learn ing in State Senior High School 1 North Indralaya. Descriptive qualitat ive study was used as the study method. Therefore, techniques for collecting data used observations, test and interviews. Then, the r esults were analyzed by using triangulation technique. The results of this study stated that overall the critical thin king abilit ies of the 10 th grade social sciences students on economics learning about the Indonesian Economy Cooperative subject in Stat e Senior High School 1 North Indralaya were quite critical with a percentage of 64.11%. This was reviewed from the results of the critical thinking abilities test which given was categorized as quite critical with a percentage of 65.52% and the critical thinking abilit ies of the 10 th grade social sciences students based on the assessment of observations were categorized quite crit ical with a percentage of 62.71%. It is suggested for the further researchers to be able to describe the development of students' critical thinking abilities by using more varied learn ing models, learn ing strategies or other media so that they can develop students' crit ical thinking abilities.
