Abstract

The research aims to find out the effect of probiotic supplementation on dietary made of swamp forage Haylage towards gas production, VFA total, and bacteria total in Vitro. This is was conducted from January to February 2020 in the laboratory of livestock industry and technology of Animal Science study program in Sriwijaya University. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatments and 4 repetitions. The treatment consisted of A0 Ration (70% haylage : 30% concentrate) without the addition of probiotics as control, A1 Ration (70% haylage : 30% concentrate) addition of 0,05% Saccharomyses cerevisiae, A2 Ration (70% haylage : 30% concentrate) addition of 0,05% Aspergillus oryzae, A3 Ration (70% haylage : 30% concentrate) addition of 0,025% Saccharomyses cerevisiae + 0,025% Aspergillus oryzae. Parameters observed are gas production, VFA total, and bacteria total. The results showed that the treatment added by Saccharomyses cerevisiae and Aspergillus oryzae probioticts on swamp forage Haylage were significantly different with (P<0,05) on gas production, VFA total, and bacteria total. The conclusion of this research is the addition of probiotic Saccharomyses cerevisiae and Aspergillus oryzae on swamp forage haylage able to increase gas production, VFA total, and Bacteria total.
