Abstract
This study aims to describe the Coping Mechanism Strategy in Learning Difficulties of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program of the Teaching and Education Faculty of Sriwijaya University. The population consisted of 69 students of Guidance and Counseling class of 2018 by using purposive sampling technique so that the sample of students had difficulty learning the moderate category totaling 41 students, and the high category totaling 28 people. The study uses a quantitative approach with survey methods. Data collection techniques use a Likert scale to measure learning difficulties and Coping Mechanism Strategies for students. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive. The results showed that most subjects of learning difficulties in the moderate category had 35,8% tendency in the form of problem-focused coping mechanism strategies and 32.2% Emotion-Focused Coping with high classification, while learning difficulties in the high category as much as 39% had a form of coping mechanism problem- focused with very high classification and as many as 32.1% of students tend to be Emotion-Focused Coping with a high classification. So that high learning difficulties will tend to use a form of problem-focused coping strategies greater than emotion-focused coping.
