Abstract

Digestive tract health can increase nutrient absorption. Efforts to improve the health of the digestive tract of broiler chickens can be done by adding probiotics such as Lactobacillus bacteria that can improve the balance of microorganisms in the digestive tract of broiler chickens. This study aims to determine the digestibility of food substances in broiler chickens by adding liquid biomass fermented pineapple waste and Indigofera leaves to the ration. This research was conducted from April to May in the Poultry Experiment Cage of Animal Husbandry Study Program and Laboratory of Nutrition and Animal Feed at the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replications, in the form of biomass from liquid fermentation of Indigofera leaf pineapple waste, namely: (P1) Pineapple waste biomass 100%, (P2) = Pineapple waste biomass 98% and 2% Indigofera leaves, (P3) = Pineapple waste biomass 96% and 4% Indigofera leaves, (P4) = Pineapple waste biomass 94% and 6% Indigofera leaves, (P5) = Pineapple waste biomass 92% and 8% Indigofera leaves. The parameters observed were dry matter digestibility, crude protein digestibility and crude fiber digestibility. The results showed that the addition of biomass from fermented pineapple waste and Indigofera leaves in the ration had a significant effect (P> 0.05) on the digestibility of crude protein with the best combination of 96% pineapple waste and 4% Indigofera leaves but were not able to increase the digestibility of nutrients the other is the digestibility of dry matter and digestibility of crude fiber.
