Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of classical guidance using audio-visual media on assertive behavior of students in SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya Selatan. In taking the sample, the researcher was using the Purposive Sampling Technique. ThePopulation in this research were all grade IX students amounting to 111 students, and the sample used was grade IX.4 amounting to 27 students due to the students exhibited low assertive behavior. The research was using a One-Group Pretest-Posstest research design. Data collection instruments was using a psychological scale. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively. The data gathering technique used wasuji t (t Test), from which they were obtained (thitung = 5,09 > ttabel = 2,056). The results of data analysis showed a significant influence on students’ assertive behavior.
