Abstract

This study aims to determine the Roemah Baling Community's strategy in improving the social care attitude of the people in Palembang which is carried out by the Roemah Baling community through various activities due to the low social care attitude of the community. The activities of the Roemah Baling community have several kinds of activities including socializing the importance of social care attitudes, community service, collecting donations for victims of natural disasters, distributing books for underprivileged children, reading books for free in the city of Palembang, sending activities to children in Eastern Indonesia, and library establishment activities in districts in South Sumatra. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. There are four informants in this study. Data collection techniques used were documentation, interviews, and observations. The validity test of the data used includes the credibility test, the transferability test, and the dependability test. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis that has been done previously, it can be concluded that there is a strategy undertaken by the Roemah Baling Community in improving the social care attitude of the people of Palembang City, namely Plan (Plans carried out by the community), namely by means of the community holding meetings to plan places, times and systematic implementation of the activities to be carried out, Pattern (Implementation of community plans), namely by carrying out all activities that have been planned and Perspective (Management of the results of activities), namely by evaluating the various obstacles that occur when carrying out every activity of the Roemah Baling community.
