Abstract

This study aims to find out about the social adaptation process of boarding students, and to determine the barriers to social adaptation of boarding students in Prabumulih 3 Public High School. The results of the study show that individuals can place themselves in a residential environment, individuals can adjust well to the new environment. Behavior generated by individuals with other individuals has harmony that makes individuals able to accept new environments, beginning with good interactions among students. Social adaptation that occurs tends to experience obstacles because of differences in mindset in acting, besides that the factors of language similarity and origin of the region become individual obstacles, individuals have groups based on similarity of thought. In addition, in adapting to the presence of comfort in the group will reduce the obstacles that occur in the dormitory environment. keywords : Adaptation, Social Adaptation, Boarding Students
