Abstract

This development research aims to produce Focusky-based presentation media in the learning to write explanation text. The study follows the procedural development of Alessi & Trollip (2001). The steps of this research are planning, designing, and developing. These three phases include data collection activities obtained from interviews, focused group discussions, polls and validation sheets. Based on the results of this research, concluded, i.e:(1) Learners need the development of media, (2) Media objective conditions have been less supportive of learning, (3) The design of the media has been in accordance with the curiosity of learners; and (4) The learning media writes an explanation text based application Focusky, generally stated to be very valid at 84.4%.
