Abstract

Narcotics are substances that cause the effects of decreased consciousness, hallucinations and natural stimulant, there are synthesis and semi-synthesis. Kota Palembang is one of city with the highest prevalence in South Sumatera which has 1,77% in 2018. Most of drug user used to smoke and drink alcohol which can decrease hemoglobin levels in blood. The purpose of this study is to analyze the determinants that influence Hb (Hemoglobin) levels in drug users in Palembang City. This research used a cross sectional study design. The population in this study were drug users in Palembang City. The sample in this study were all rehabilitated drug users in Palembang City. The sample in this study were 68 drug users who were in the rehabilitation center. Bivariate analysis using Chi-square test and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression test predictive factor models. The results of bivariate analysis in this study showed there was a significant relation between smoking frequency (0.036) with Hb levels in drug users in Palembang City2 10 cigarettes per day have a 5,966 times higher risk of having low Hb levels compared to drug users who smoke less than 10 cigarettes per day. Therefore it is necessary to make efforts to decrease the use of addictive substances such as smoking, alcohol consumption and avoid the use of drugs in order not to relaps. And also live with healthy lifestyle.
