Abstract

Banyuasin waters are one of fisheries sources in South Sumatera, which is located at Kabupaten Banyuasin. Development on fisheries field is no longer in doubt, such as capture fisheries and cultivation that are developed. The management for fisheries sources on Banyuasin waters has improved, as seen from increasing the fisheries business in the area. One of the catch that been used by the fisherman at Desa Sungsang, Kabupaten Banyuasin is known as bagan tancap (stationary lift net). Resources estimation are used to improve fishery business productivity on Banyuasin waters. This research aims to determine density of fish using hydroacoustic method through vertical pattern analysis (daily), horizontal migration pattern and average value of target strength to know length of the fish using Scientific Echosounder SIMRAD EK-15 single beam with 200 kHz frequency with tracking method following the bagan tancap lanes on Banyuasin waters. The data of this research are processed using Sonar 5 Pro software and ArcGIS to visualize the distribution of fish density. The result of this research shows that the detected sized of fish are around -69,98 dB to -38,53 dB, and the density of the area are around 0-164,04 kg/km2
