Abstract
THIS STUDY AIMS TO TEST THE PERFORMANCE OF OIL SPINNER MACHINE AND OBSERVE THE SEPARATION OF OIL IN THE MATERIAL BEING TESTED. THIS RESEARCH WAS CONDUCTED AT THE WORKSHOP AND AGRICULTURAL MACHINE TOOL LABORATORY, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY, FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE, SRIWIJAYA UNIVERSITY, INDRALAYA. THIS RESEARCH WAS CONDUCTED FROM NOVEMBER 2020 TO COMPLETION. THIS RESEARCH USES DESCRIPTIVE METHOD WITH TABULATED PRESENTATION. THE PARAMETERS USED IN THIS STUDY WERE EFFECTIVE CAPACITY, ENERGY REQUIREMENTS AND YIELD OF OIL DRAINAGE. THE RESULTS OF THIS STUDY INDICATE THE VALUE OF THE HIGHEST EFFECTIVE TOOL CAPACITY IN THE FRIED SHALLOT SAMPLE OF 5.424 KG/HOUR WITH A TREATMENT SPEED OF 800 RPM AND A DURATION OF 60 SECONDS, WHILE THE LOWEST EFFECTIVE CAPACITY VALUE OF THE FRIED SHALLOT SAMPLE IS 2.457 KG/HOUR WITH SPEED TREATMENT. 1000 RPM AND A DURATION OF 120 SECONDS, THE HIGHEST VALUE OF THE EFFECTIVE CAPACITY OF THE POTATO CHIPS SAMPLE WAS 5.784 KG/HOUR WITH A TREATMENT SPEED OF 800 RPM AND A DURATION OF 60 SECONDS WHILE THE LOWEST EFFECTIVE CAPACITY VALUE OF THE SAMPLE WAS 2.46 KG/HOUR. WITH A TREATMENT SPEED OF 1000 RPM AND A DURATION OF 120 SECONDS, THE HIGHEST EFFECTIVE CAPACITY VALUE IN THE BANANA CHIP SAMPLE WAS 5.892 KG/HOUR WITH A TREATMENT SPEED OF 800 RPM AND A TIME DURATION OF 60 SECONDS WHILE THE LOWEST EFFECTIVE CAPACITY VALUE WAS IN THE BANANA CHIP SAMPLE OF 2.703 KG/HOUR WITH A TREATMENT SPEED OF 1000 RPM AND A LONG TIME OF 120 SECONDS. THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF DRAINED OIL VALUE WAS IN THE FRIED SHALLOT SAMPLE, WHICH WAS 18.1% WITH A TREATMENT SPEED OF 1000 RPM AND A DURATION OF 120 SECONDS WHILE THE LOWEST PERCENTAGE OF DRAINED OIL VALUE WAS IN THE SAMPLE OF FRIED SHALLOTS, WHICH WAS 9.6% WITH A TREATMENT SPEED OF 800 RPM AND THE LENGTH OF TIME IS 60 SECONDS, THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF DRAINED OIL VALUE IS IN THE SWEET POTATO CHIP SAMPLE, WHICH IS 18% WITH A SPEED TREATMENT OF 1000 RPM AND A DURATION OF 120 SECONDS WHILE THE LOWEST PERCENTAGE OF OIL VALUE DRAINED IS IN THE SAMPLE OF SWEET POTATO CHIPS WHICH IS 3.6% WITH A SPEED TREATMENT 800 RPM AND A TIME PERIOD OF 60 SECONDS, THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF DRAINED OIL VALUE WAS IN THE BANANA CHIP SAMPLE, WHICH WAS 9.9% WITH A TREATMENT SPEED OF 1000 RPM AND A DURATION OF 120 SECONDS WHILE THE LOWEST PERCENTAGE OF DRAINED OIL VALUE WAS IN THE BANANA CHIP SAMPLE, WHICH WAS 1.8 % WITH A TREATMENT SPEED OF 800 RPM AND A LONG TIME OF 60 SECONDS.
