Abstract
Electricity as one of the main sources of energy in modern human life have a very vital part in our daily live. However, there is so many cases of power outage that happen caused by interference or maintenance. Therefore, many people use generator as a backup power plant when power outage happen. However, the use of conventional generator has side effect like a loud noise and carbon emission. Because of that in this study we doing motor generator set that make little noise and don’t produce carbon emission and do the performance measurement. In the motor generator set that we make it use 24 Volt battery as the power supply, direct current as the drive system and generator. From the study we got the operational time of this motor generator set is 15 minutes, with the maximum power output value is 116.6 Watt and the highest efficiency in the motor generator set on the testing is 16.822 %. This thing happens because of the capacity of motor far smaller than the generator; this makes the motor work with overload situation.
