Abstract

This study aims to determine the interest in learning class VIII towards learning based on mathematical modeling of relation and function material. This type of research is descriptive research. The subjects in this study were 6 students of SMP Negeri 54 Palembang class VIII.8. The data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire, observation, and interviews. Based on the results of the study, the students' interest in learning based on mathematical modeling of the material relations and functions was good, although there were still some students who were less interested in some indicators. The students were very good (77.42%) and the students were good (22.58%). From each indicator, namely an indicator of feeling happy was very good (82.25%), the indicator of student attention was very good (85.07%), on student involvement indicators was good (77.14%), and the indicator of student interest was good (79.56%).
