Abstract

Daun cempedak (Artocarpus champeden) mengandung metabolit sekunder meliputi flavonoid, steroid, triterpenoid, fenolik, alkaloid, dan saponin yang dapat berpotensi sebagai Antihiperlipidemia. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik dan pengaruh pemberian ekstrak etanol daun cempedak dalam penurunan kadar kolesterol total, LDL, dan trigliserida. Percobaan menggunakan hewan uji yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan, kelompok kontrol positif (Simvastatin 1 mg/kgBB), kelompok kontrol negatif (NaCMC 1%) serta kelompok perlakuan ekstrak etanol daun cempedak (Dosis 180, 360, 720 mg/kgBB). Tikus uji diinduksi pakan tinggi lemak dan propiltiourasil, selanjutnya diberikan sediaan uji selama 14 hari setelah penginduksian. Hasil penelitian didapatkan ekstrak etanol daun cempedak dalam dosis 720 mg/kgBB mampu menurunkan kadar kolesterol total, LDL, dan trigliserida secara bermakna sebesar 41,25 ± 4,78 mg/dL, 16,02 ± 0,817 mg/dL, serta 55,21 ± 0.78 mg/dL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol daun cempedak mempunyai aktivitas sebagai antihiperlipidemia dan terdapat perbedaan siginifikan dibandingkan kelompok kontrol negatif (p<0,05). Nilai dosis efektif 50 (ED50) ekstrak etanol daun cempedak yaitu 681,70 mg/kgBB untuk penurunan kadar kolesterol total, 708,33 mg/kgBB untuk penurunan kadar LDL, serta 696,60 mg/kgBB untuk penurunan kadar trigliserida.
