Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of participant learning outcomesstudents in the material as many as many shapes, circumference and area of a flat shape through the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research which was conducted in three cycles. This research was conducted at Palembang Elementary School 21 in class IV A with a total of 28 students. Data collection techniques used were a written test in the form of 20 multiple choice questions and an observation sheet to observe learners. The results showed that the learning outcomes of students in the circumference and area of a flat shape, the percentage of students' learning completeness in cycle I was 60.71%, in cycle II 75% and in cycle III increased to 85.71%. The results of observations of the activeness of students in cycle I had a percentage of 25%, in cycle IIamounted to 53.57% and in cycle III amounted to 82.14%. Based on these dataIt can be concluded that by using the educational approachIndonesian Realistic Mathematics (PMRI) can improve participant learning outcomesstudents in the material as much as the shape, the circumference and area of a flat shape in class IV Palembang Elementary School 21.
