Abstract

Background: Data showed that only 1,5% South Sumatera population who showed their behavior of tooth brushing correctly. Primary school age was an ideal age to teached some knowledges and practiced the skills, one of them was oral health preservation. The purpose of this study was to determined the view of tooth brushing behavior toward 5th and 6th grades primary school students in MI Al-Wathoniyah including the level of the knowledges, attitudes, and practices. Method: A total of 115 students were involved in this study. The research instrument was a questionnaire which distributed to students. Datas were obtained from completed questionnaires were collected, processed, and analyzed by categorized and then presented in the frequency distribution tables. Result: Frequency of students knowledges level in good category ( 95,65%) and in moderate category (4,35%), Frequency of students attitudes in good category (92,17%) and in moderate category (7,83%), Frequency of students practice in good category (83,48%) and in moderate category (16,52%), and no one with bad category. Conclusion: Tooth brushing behavior toward 5th and 6th grades primary school students in MI Al-Wathoniyah was already good which the highest frequency of knowledges level, attitudes, and practice of oral health preservation that was good category and no students with worst category, but there were some students in moderate category.
