Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is entitled "Dramaturgy of Using Second Accounts for Social Media Instagram (Study on 4 Sriwijaya University Students who use Second Account" which raises the problem of using a second account based on the Dramaturgy theory concept of Erving Goffman in his book entitled "The Presentation of Self in Everday Life". This study aims to find out how the life of the second Instagram account of the four students is based on the concept of Dramaturgy itself. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive techniques. This theory says that Dramaturgy is a drama stage created by actors in playing their roles, namely the Front Stage. ) and Back Stage (back stage). This research data is obtained from primary and secondary data as well as the results of in-depth interviews and observations conducted on informants and seeing the activities carried out on the second and first account as a comparison then looking at the patterns behavior of informants directly. Based on the research results, there are 2 informants accordingto the Front Stage concept and 2 informants according to the Back Stage concept.
