Abstract

The problems discussed in this research regarding how the intertextual relationship between the novel Api Tauhid by Habiburrahman El Shirazy and Sukran Vahide's Biography of Badiuzzaman Said Sursi is seen from the theme, character, plot, background, and mandate as well as what techniques are used in the transformation text. The purpose of this study is to describe the relationship between a biography that acts as a hypogram text and a novel that acts as a transformation text in terms of the characters, character, plot and setting, and to find the transformation techniques used in the transformation text. The method used in this research is a comparative descriptive method. The data sources used were the novel Api Tauhid by Habiburrahman El Shirazy and Biography of Badiuzzaman Said Nursi by Sukran Vahide. The results obtained from this study are found a relationship between biographies and novels based on character, character, plot, and setting. In this study, there are three Transformation techniques used, namely the modification technique, the expansion technique, and the exploration technique. Based on the results of this study, there were changes in the novel. Key words: intertextual, transformation technique
