Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the project based learning model on the ability to write text from the observation results of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 29 students from class X.IPA.2 who were given the initial test before being given treatment and the final test after being treated using a project based learning model . Data collection techniques using test techniques, namely writing skills. Meanwhile, data processing techniques use paired simple testsand t-test with the SPSS 25 program. The results showed a difference in the mean value, namely the pretest had an average value of 51.52. While the posttest has an average value of 81.67. From the results of hypothesis testing, it is found that the sig. (2 tailed ) in the table 0.000 <0.05 and the value of t count = 18.793> t table = 2.048. Based on these results, it means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect in using a project based learning model through online learning on the ability to write text from the observation results of class X SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. Therefore, the project based learning model is recommended to be used in Indonesian language learning in schools because it has an influence on Indonesian language learning, especially in learning to write text based on observations carried out online
