Abstract

This study aims to produce learning media and determine the feasibility of learning media based on the LINE@ application in learning to write explanatory text. This research was applied to class XI IPS students of SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. This study uses a research and development method (R&D) using research and development steps Allesi and Trolip. Data collection techniques in this study used interview techniques, interview techniques, questionnaires, and assessment sheets. The results of this study are that teachers and students need explanatory text learning media based on the LINE @ application.to foster students' motivation and interest in writing and to help students learn independently. The validity test of learning media based on the LINE@ application of learning to write explanatory text is validated by media experts, material experts, and linguists. The validity test by media experts got a score of 69 with a maximum score of 76 and it can be categorized as very good. The validity test by material experts gets a score61 with a maximum score of 76 and can be categorized as very good. The validity test by a linguist gets a score of 48 with a maximum score of 64 and can be categorized as good. To test the feasibility of learning media writing explanatory text based on the LINE@ application , it is assessed from the results of trials by students. The media feasibility assessment test by Indonesian language subject teachers got a score of 95 with a maximum score of 108 and could be categorized as very good. The feasibility test of the media through trials on 3 students representing high, medium, and low levels of knowledge got an average score of 59 out of 3 students with a maximum score of 68.Thus, it is concluded that the learning media is writing explanatory text based on the LINE @ application. this is feasible and suitable for use in learning to write explanatory text.
