Abstract

The study aimed to discover the effect of giving starfruit (Averhoa bilimbi L) juice on the percentage weight small intestine and cecca of pegagan ducks production phase II . This study was conducted from May to July 2019 in the Experiment Cage for Animal Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University using 15 litter cages with plots of 15 p x l x t size, 1m x 1m x 1.5m. This study used 45 ducks of Pegagan phase II, aged 9 months, which im obtained from Kotadaro II village, Rantau Panjang district, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra.The study used the completely randomized design (CRD) consisted of 5 treatments and 3 repititions. The treatments consisted of P0 (Control), P1 (drinking water + 4% starfruit solution), P2 (drinking water + 6% starfruit solution), P3 (drinking water + 8% starfruit solution), P4 (drinking water + 10% starfruit solution). The variables observed were the percentage of small intestine , duodenum weight, jejenum weight, ileum weight and cecca weight. The results of the study showed that the addition of starfruit juice (Averhoa blimbi L) in drinking water had no effect (P> 0.05) on the percentage of small intestine weight, duodenal weight, jejenum weight, ileal weight and had an effect on the percentage of swab weight in treatment P1 (Drinking water + 4% wuluh starfruit solution). The conclusion of this research is the addition of wuluh starfruit juice doesn't affect the percentage of small intestine weight, duodenum weight, jejenum weight and ileal weight, but it does affect the percentage of cecca weight.
