Abstract

In a patriarchal culture, men are considered to be more dominant among women, causing women to have limitations in pouring ideas, thoughts, and energy into a village program so that an empowerment program has been formed for groups dedicated to women to provide equal opportunities and rights to improve women's quality and family economy. This research aims to know the process of empowerment of Farmer Women's Group (KWT) and the supporting factors and inhibitors in the empowerment of KWT. This research uses the "Empowerment Process Theory from Delivery Teams" in the book of Mardikanto and Soebiato. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive type. The data collection techniques performed in this research are observation, interview, and documentation. As for the results of this research, it is known that the empowerment stages process is executed through several stages, namely the location selection stage, the program socialization, and the empowerment process stage. The stage of the empowerment process includes: (a) identifying and conducting studies on related issues, potential areas, and opportunities, (b) formulating the group activity plan, and (c) implementing the group activity plan. Group activities include registration, introduction, seed sowing, chicken coop production, demonstration plot production, and final monitoring and evaluation. Furthermore, the research results also show the supporting factors of empowerment, namely communication (internal) and financial assistance resources (external). In contrast, the inhibitory factor in empowerment is KWT members' busyness (internal) and marketing activities that have not been maximized (external). Keywords: Empowerment, Farmer Women's Group.
