Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how much interest and talent of students at SMP Negeri 57 Palembang. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII totaling 48 students consisting of 8 classes. The design of this research is descriptive quantitative using survey method which consists of three factors, namely: interest factor, attention factor, and need factor. The data obtained for each question uses the percentage formula with descriptive analysis of the percentage interpreted (interpreted). The data obtained in the very high category has a frequency of 4 students if the percentage is 8%. Furthermore, the high category has a frequency of 11 students if the percentage is 23%. The low category has a frequency of 18 students if it is 38%. And the very low category has a frequency of 15 students, if the percentage is 31%. From the data above, it shows that the profile of students' interest in volleyball is in the low category when combined, the low and very low categories have a frequency of 39 students with a percentage of 69%.
